Part-Time Position

Hours: (26 hrs per week)

The standard workweek will be as follows:

Regular office/ministry hours will initially be two to three days during the standard workweek (Mon-Fri) (to be determined by scheduling abilities), with the ministry on Wednesday and Sunday.

Summary of the position:

To provide leadership, vision, and direction that creates a life-giving atmosphere of vibrant and enticing discipleship and evangelism for New Life Church’s youth, parents, and youth ministry team. The Youth Pastor will manage the church-wide direction of New Life Youth.  This oversight includes direct responsibility for New Life Youth and New Life Youth ministry partners.

Vacation Policy

One-week paid vacation at a weekly rate during the first year of employment. Two weeks of paid vacation at the weekly rate each year after the completion of one year.

We recognize that initially, this position will be limited, but we intend for it to develop into a full-time ministry.

Youth Pastor Requirements:

• An evident, passionate relationship with Jesus Christ.
•  Committed to life-long learning through reading, personal study, attendance at seminars and conferences, and ongoing education.
• Previous youth ministry experience is an advantage.
• Must be able to work as a member of a team.
• Must hold or actively pursue credentials with the Assembly of God.
• Proficient understanding of challenges and needs of young people.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with social media.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to lead by example.
• Available to work extended hours, evenings, over weekends and public holidays, and on short notice.
• Must be able to obtain a criminal record check without offense.

Responsibilities:

• Attending and participating in staff meetings.
• Oversee and organize youth ministry at New Life Fellowship Church.
• Develop and oversee the implementation of policies and enforce compliance.
• Oversee and develop the Sunday & Wednesday experience for all youth.
• Work closely with the Lead Pastor to analyze the ministry’s effectiveness and adjust as needed.
• Recruit, develop, and train high-quality leaders for Ministry Partner team roles to execute all aspects of youth ministry.
• Consistent communication with key leaders and parents.

• Oversee special event planning to include Youth Camps, Retreats, Outreach Events, Easter, Conferences & Ministry Partner appreciation events.

• All staff are expected to cheerfully help out wherever needed, either on their own initiative or as directed by the Lead Pastor.
• Member of Leadership Core in vision, strategy, and implementation of ministry and call of God for the church.
• Leading middle and high school students to encourage their spiritual growth.
• Developing positive relationships with students and their parents.
• Sharing program plans and events through social media.
• Incorporating youth into various church ministries to discover, develop, and use their God-given gifts and talents.
